Research focus on: Website user engagement
Based on the research proposal, I propose an idea on improving website user engagement. I get some inspirations after visiting the site explaining on User engagement metrics.
“Shoot & Win Contest” via Facebook
1. Rural King had organised a Shoot & Win Contest in 2012.
Contestants are asked to upload a picture of most recent trophy deer and enter to win a Wildgame Innovations 10 Megapixel Infrared Flash Digital Game Scouting Camera Model #IR10X.To me, this contest is suitable for hunter or those who is adventurer. As it is a challenge to shoot photo together with animal in the jungle. In addition, the prize offer is definitely very attractive!
2. Palmer’s Malaysia had recently run an online contest in conjunction with the Mother’s Day 2013. This is event requires the entrants need to purchase any Palmer’s products to join this contest. The contestant has to attach a photo of him or her with mom, be creative to include any Palmer’s product in the picture. Winners can stand a chance to win cash, hamper and massage products.
I think, this is a smart way to run an online contest based on current festival as this will engage themselves to buy gift for their mothers. However, I suggest that the organizer should ask the contestant to upload the photo into Palmer’s Facebook page and ask for voting. This is relatively better than just asking the contestant to post or email the photo to them.
Based on the article I read, photo with text post will get 20% of exposure rate in Facebook. This leads to more inbound traffic and higher engagement rate. Hence, those shared a photo on Facebook, it would receive the highest exposure rate.
